Urge President Bush to Renew the Call for Parity--Contact the White House This Week!

Two-year Anniversary

April 29th marks the two year anniversary of President Bush's call on Congress to pass mental health parity legislation. It is critical to demonstrate to the White House that passage of the Paul Wellstone Mental Health Equitable Treatment Act (S 486 in the Senate and HR 953 in the House of Representatives) is important to the American public.

Despite broad support for this legislation (69 cosponsors in the Senate and 245 in the House of Representatives), congressional leaders have held up the "Senator Paul Wellstone Mental Health Equitable Treatment Act." (S 486/HR 953). Two years have passed since President Bush expressed support for full mental health parity legislation.

We need to keep up the pressure to force action on parity. Please contact the White House to urge the President to renew his call for passage of parity legislation.
